Trips and Meetings 2024 - 2025


All INDOOR MEETINGS are held on the 4th. Friday of the month, unless otherwise stated in the programme (please note - some months have 5 Fridays, we still meet on the fourth Friday), in the JUBILEE HALL, 18 - 24 STANLEY ROAD, KNUTSFORD WA16 0GP. Members gather from 7:15 for an 8:00 pm start. New members are always welcome - scroll down this page!

For these field trips there will be no meeting spots in Knutsford and members are asked to make their own way to the various venues.

2024

May 12-13 Walney Island on Sunday, Leighton Moss on the way back on Monday. Staying at Barrow Premier Inn. It is possible to just do the Sunday. Leader: Tony Usher.

May 24 Fri Wildboarclough evening walk, meet in the Clough House car park (half way down the valley next to the stream) at 7pm. Leader: Jude Halman.

Jun 2-6 KOS 50th Anniversary Trip to Dumfries and Galloway, staying at Creebridge House Hotel. Contact: Sheila Blamire. Day Leaders tbc nearer the date.

Jun 28 Fri Mobberley evening walk, meet in Mill Lane (close to The Bull’s Head), Mobberley at 6:30pm. Leader: Tony Usher.

Jul 6 Sat Belvide Reservoir Reserve / Blithfield Reservoir, meet at Belvide Reservoir at 10am (more details to be supplied nearer the date). Leader Phil Rowley.

INDOOR MEETINGS are held on the 4th Friday of the month, unless otherwise stated in the programme, in the Jubilee Hall, Stanley Road, Knutsford. Members gather from 7:15pm for an 8pm start. Admission: £3 members and £6 visitors (except for under 18s when admission is free). There is no charge for the AGM.

Directions: Approaching from the north on the A50 (the main road through the town) turn right into Stanley Road at the main set of traffic lights in the centre of Knutsford. Approaching from the south turn left at the lights (the first set you come to) and turn into Stanley Road. Approaching from Macclesfield (A537) it’s straight across the lights into Stanley Road. In Stanley Road take the first right into the car park of Booths supermarket. After 20yds turn right into the small car park (not the residents’ car park under the archway). The entrance to the Jubilee Hall is on Stanley Road, walking back towards the traffic lights.

TRIPS AND EVENING WALKS: Meet at the venues, whether day trip or evening walk. More information, including all directions, will be sent by email before the event.

Joining the KOS

The current subscription rate is £20 per annum but for young people under the age of 18 membership is free.

To renew your KOS membership:

KOS subscriptions become due on the 1st April every year. The current subscription rate is £20 ( but free for under 18s). You can pay in various ways:

-in person on any of our forthcoming day trips or evening walks.

-by sending a cheque or cash (£20) by post to our treasurer Frank Dearden at 53, Northwich Road, Knutsford WA16 0AR. Please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope if you wish to have your receipt and membership card posted back to you.

-by bank transfer to our account in the name of Knutsford Ornithological Society at Royal Bank of Scotland, account no.11875827 sort code 16-22-27. Please enter your name in the reference window so that we can identify the payment.

To Join the KOS for the first time
